Normandy Beach, NJ
This new home was built after Hurricane Sandy destroyed the previous traditional beach house. The clients, a young and growing family, wanted something historically grounded but also openly playful. What emerged was an unassuming, traditional shingle style exterior with a lively interior, inviting you to relax before and after trips to the beach. We worked closely with local carpenters and cabinetmakers to give the interior an authentic beach house feel including custom wainscoting, bookcases, kitchen cabinetry and coffered ceilings. And outdoor-focused details include a large deck, outdoor brick fireplace, and covered seating.
• Custom wainscoting and cabinetry throughout
• Bayside deck with outdoor brick fireplace
