Transitional Renovation

Summit, NJ

With the goal of creating a home that reflected the unique personalities of the owners — and their personal tastes — the project consisted of a complete renovation with an addition. Exterior detailing was designed to be intentionally minimal, so that it would blend with the style of surrounding homes.

The interior was designed around the client’s mid-century furniture collection, which was wonderfully eclectic. Inside, the home reflects a mix of modern, bold colors, and an intentionally monochromatic kitchen. Unique lighting fixtures and acrylic baluster railings with classically styled 1920’s woodwork keeps the house grounded in its history.  A new open concept kitchen was created with a clean, minimal aesthetic and black and white palette to create a distinct transition from kitchen to and the living and dining rooms.
